To enroll as a transfer student, complete the following:

TRANSCRIPT

  • Mail or bring your official high school* transcript showing proof of graduation, GED or AHS transcript to:

*If you have earned an associate or bachelor’s degree, you are not required to submit your high school transcript.

  • If you have taken classes at another college, please submit an official college transcript. 
  • Once you submit your transcript, you can check your Self-Service account to see when we received, evaluated and processed it. 
  • If you intend to apply for financial aid (FAFSA), we must receive your high school transcript before we can process your financial aid application. Note: financial aid is not available for students who have earned a Bachelor’s degree or higher.

PLACEMENT

Meet Placement Test Requirements

    1. Placement testing MAY NOT BE NEEDED if you:
      • Graduated from a U.S. high school less than ten years ago, or
      • Took the ACT or SAT less than 10 years ago, or
      • Took the GED/HSE since 2014 and scored 170 or higher on all four GED/HSE test subjects, or
      • Took the HiSET and scored a 15 on all five HiSET subtests and a 4 on the essay, or
      • Have an Associate degree or higher from a regionally accredited college/university

If you meet any of these criteria, please submit official documentation to the Office of Admissions as soon as possible.

          2.  Placement testing MAY BE NEEDED if you:

  • Graduated high school with less than a 2.8 GPA and do not have recent test scores, or
  • Completed the GED/HSE prior to 2014, or
  • Completed the GED/HSE after 2014 with scores less than 170 on all four GED/HSE test subjects, or
  • Received an Adult High School diploma

ORIENTATION

  • All students new to Gaston College are required to complete the online orientation.
  • Once your student account is created, an email will be sent to your personal email address with instructions on how to access the online orientation. 
  • Upon completion of the online orientation, you will have an opportunity to schedule a meeting with your assigned academic advisor.
