In honor of Black History Month, the Multicultural Affairs Committee Presents:
Radical Creativity: Black Women and Girls writing their stories
By Dr. Janaka Bowman Lewis (UNCC)
Based on Light and Legacies, this presentation will discuss how Black women literary figures have told and represented their girlhood stories. Including activists Angela Davis and Assata Shakur, writers Toni Morrison and Lorraine Hansberry, and even the fictional stories of Angie Thomas (The Hate U Give), we will discuss how liberation is an intergenerational discussion.
