Medical Office Administration
Medical Offices Need Administrators to Help Them Run Smoothly
In addition to medical offices, health care facilities, insurance billing offices, labs and medical equipment manufacturers need workers with the skills and expertise acquired through these programs.
Growing Demand
A non-clinical career in the health care industry may provide you with more stable and predictable hours and the demand is growing. Medical billers and coders in particular are in high demand. With an aging population and new medical facilities, job growth is expected to continue.
Five Semesters, Online Flexibility
Both the general medical office administration degree and the medical and billing Associate of Applied Science degrees can be completed 100% online. You can also complete the program in as few as five semesters.
A Diploma Gets You Started
If you’re just entering the medical office field, or you are upgrading or retraining, you can get a diploma in just three semesters and may apply your credits toward an AAS.
Students completing the Gaston College Medical Office Administration-Billing and Coding program may be eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) exam. This is a national certification exam fully accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). For more information, visit http://www.nhanow.com/certifications.
