If you’re looking for a more affordable option for your fundamental courses or are home for the summer and looking to catch up or get ahead by earning credits that count towards your degree, you can attend Gaston College as a visiting student. Visiting students are students currently enrolled and actively pursuing a degree at another college or university that want to take classes at Gaston College to transfer credit back to their home institution. We have both online and on-campus course options available.

We’d love to have you join the GC community as a visiting student! Follow the steps below to apply and register.

    1. Pick your course(s) – Find your course in our catalog. Be sure to check with your home institution to verify the course can be transferred and will count toward your program of study. If a course has placement testing requirements or course pre-requisites, you’ll need to provide a copy of your college transcripts showing you meet all eligibility requirements.
    2. Apply online – Complete GC’s online application selecting Visiting Student as your program of study.
    3. Complete the online orientation – We’ll email you the link to complete a short online orientation after receiving your application.
    4. Submit your course(s) request to Advising – After completing the online orientation, email [email protected] with the courses you are requesting and all required documentation, including transcripts, showing you meet eligibility requirements.

Advising will email you approval to register for the requested classes after verifying all provided documentation.
