Scholarships – Workforce Development/Continuing Education
Scholarships
Gaston College Workforce Development/Continuing Education students are highly encouraged to apply for available scholarships and/or grants in several of our courses. Scholarships and grants are offered as long as funding remains available in the following programs:
State Employees Credit Union (SECU) Bridge to Career Program
- This $500 scholarship helps cover the cost of tuition, fees, books, supplies, credentialing tests, and other components of the cost of attendance. SECU scholarship awards are determined based on financial need and will be awarded before the end of the course. Recipients must meet program eligibility requirements to be selected to receive this scholarship.
- This scholarship is currently offered for these programs:
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
- Nurse Aide I & II (CNA I, CNA II)
- Truck Driver Training (CDL)
- This scholarship is currently offered for these programs:
Short Term Workforce Development (STWD) Grant Program
- This scholarship (up to $750) helps cover the cost of tuition, fees, books, supplies, credentialing tests, transportation, childcare, and other components of the total cost of attendance. STWD scholarship awards are determined based on student need and will be awarded before the end of the course. Recipients must meet program eligibility requirements to be selected to receive this grant.
- This scholarship is currently offered for these programs:
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
- Nurse Aide I & II (CNA I/CNA II)
- Truck Driver Training (CDL)
- This scholarship is currently offered for these programs:
Scholarships will be awarded to selected recipients once they have met eligibility requirements of the program and remain in good standing on the disbursement date.
Additional scholarships may become available at various times throughout the year. Scholarship eligibility requirements and application information will be relayed to all enrolled students by a Workforce Development team designee either prior to or during the first week of class.
