Adult High School Diploma (AHS)
AHS Courses
Gaston College Adult High School operates on two semesters, January – June and July – December with short breaks between semesters. Adult High School offers placement testing throughout the year so students may apply at any time by completing the contact form at gaston.edu/ahs. Upon completion of all requirements in the contact form, students are scheduled for an online reading placement test (via ZOOM with AHS staff). Scores must be on a 9th grade level or higher for admission. Students who do not initially qualify are referred to a reading review class. Upon completion of the review class, students are eligible to retest.
The AHS program is 100% online including placement testing, orientation and classes. Each class has a completion time ranging from 4 to 7 weeks, depending on the subject. Students are required to work a minimum of 15 hours each week. As soon as one class is finished, students are enrolled for the next class.
For more information on testing/orientation, please call Tonya Propst at 704-748-5205, Debra Hissom at 704-748-5206, or Pamela Beard at 704-748-5215 or email [email protected]
